You are Divine Love!

Unity of Bloomington is a welcoming and affirming congregation that believes love is the greatest force in our world. Love is what connects all human beings as aspects of the Divine; God is love, and we are made in God’s image — therefore we are love. The love we feel for each other is our Divinity recognizing itself in others.
Following Jesus' teachings, we strive to embrace unconditional love for all, without any exceptions.

Our CommUnity is enriched by the presence and contributions of its LGBTQ+ members, staff, and speakers.

It troubles us deeply to witness the twisting of Jesus' message and seeing it used to promote prejudice and discrimination in our society. Our arms are open to anyone who has been rejected by their spiritual home.

Unity Worldwide Resources

Unity has a long history of performing commitment ceremonies, supporting marriage equality, and immediately began performing legal ceremonies when marriage equality passed.

Bloomington Pride

Unity of Bloomington attends our town’s annual Pride Fest, which takes place each August.

Many LGBTQ+ people have been ousted not only from their immediate families, but also their spiritual families. Many feel a deep longing for spiritual guidance, or something as simple as a structured Sunday experience. It can be difficult, and even frightening, to approach a new congregation without knowing their beliefs.

Unity of Bloomington, as well as other churches and spiritual centers, attend Pride functions to remind LGBTQ+ people that there are places where they are welcomed. We hope that all those who are seeking are able to find the spiritual home that suits them best.
