Get Involved!

Unity Center for Spiritual Growth is comprised of individuals who work together in teams to accomplish our ministry. Our current teams are listed below. We are open to your involvement with any of these teams. Just contact the Ministry Office at 812.333.2484 or ministry(at)unityofbloomington.org to let us know of your interest. Also, if you feel led to propose a ministry in which we are not currently involved, talk with one of the Ministers. We are open to Spirit moving through you!

Youth Education Team
Provides spiritual education for children from birth through high school. Led by our Director of Youth Education, Dr. Ruth E., they provide classes and childcare on Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon and special children's activities at other times. Volunteers are always welcome in this important programming area. Contact Ruth at youthed @ unityofbloomington . org

Hospitality Team
Provides a warm welcome to all those who participate in our ministry. Coordinated by Joan Keeler, this group includes people who prepare and clean up our Sunday morning refreshments as well as the greeters who welcome folks to our Sunday service. Friendly volunteers can contact Joan at hospitality @ unityofbloomington . org to help on this team.

Sunday Service Team
Staffs our Sunday morning services in the roles of service leader and meditation leader. Those with public speaking experience are welcome to contact one of the Ministers to learn more about participating on this team.

Bookstore Team
Assists Bob LeBeau, our Bookstore manager, in staffing our Spiritual Growth Bookstore. If you are interested in books, you might enjoy volunteering during the week or on Sunday mornings. Sales, inventory, cataloging and ordering are just a few of the tasks with which volunteers can help. To learn more, email bookstore @ unityofbloomington . org

Property Team
Helps maintain our physical plant. Willing hands and strong backs are always appreciated as we care for our spiritual home. There are projects inside and outside the Center, from cleaning and painting to gardening and handy-person projects. Contact Doug Clickenger, our Administrative Assistant, at ministry @ unityofbloomington . org if you feel called to assist our ministry in this practical way.

Public Outreach Team
Extends our ministry into the local community. This team coordinates interfaith events and public service projects. These include monthly food drives for Monroe County United Ministries Emergency Food Pantry, annual clothing drives for those in need, and twice-a-year Circulation Days, where people donate clean, usable clothing and household items for others to take and use as Spirit leads. If you are interested in outreach ministry and would like to work with this team, contact one of the Ministers.
